Yet so deeply you touched us with your long and painful fight
Such courage shown in suffering and yet still standing tall
Taking fate’s judgment with neither a stumble nor a fall
All those tomorrows we feared that you would never see
Now stretch out far ahead of you unburdened and free
Treasure every moment and take pleasure in each new day
Reach out to touch the dawn that made the darkness fade away
For faith answered all our prayers and dreams did come true
Manifest in this gift of life which God bestowed on you
